Thanks to all the folks who have been braving the rains to come hear live music on Fridays at Roca Verde Restaurant and Bar in Dominical!! There have been some great nights with Ben Orton on guitar, writing and vocals - and Nancy Buchan on vocals and 5 string electric violin. They have been adding new songs to their already large repertoire, and some excellent musicians have been stopping by to sit in. The Roc serves up wonderful food, and is a spacious and lovely venue to listen or dance to live music - on the beach just south of Dominical. Those Howlers - New World Monkeys - whatever you want to call them - will be starting at 7:30 pm this Friday, November 1st. Come on out and have some good ole' rock and roll kind of fun - and thanks as always for supporting live music in our little corner of the world!!

As we wrap up the last quarter of 2013, I am pleased to tell you that the first year at UCA has been nothing short of amazing.
I have witnessed HUGE changes in the young people who have been a part of our program. Some students who were scoring very poorly in the traditional school setting have excelled through our individual approach and mastery-based curriculum. Students who were literally scoring 55% before UCA now have a 91% average!
In addition, I have had multiple parents come to me to report about the changes they have seen in their son or daughter at home. Poor behavior has been replaced many times with a more respectful attitude toward parental authority. It is wonderful!
Even though all of our current students are returning next year, we do have space to enroll a few new students. We have open seats at all levels: Kindergarten through 12th grade.
If you, or someone you know, is considering UCA as an option for next year, please contact me right away. Open enrollment begins November 1st; seats will be reserved for the 2014 academic school year based on a first come, first served basis.
